Expecting Baby Jackson
Many years ago during dorm consolidation at Carson Newman College I met a fun, loud, full of life young girl that within days became my new roommate! Through the years I have had the opportunity to photograph she and he husband and last week I got to join in their excitement as they await the arrival of Jackson! Congratulations Tiffany and Dave! I can’t wait to meet baby Jackson!
Sweet Summertime Family
If any of you have been following my blog or know me personally, you know what a special place I have in my heart for children with special needs and their sweet families. Earlier this summer I had the privilege to meet The Tackett family. Many years ago they decided to go on a new adventure and they adopted two precious boys. Since then with the love and care provided them, they have flourished and are living happy full lives! I was so excited to be able to take their first ever family portrait! After several conversations with Angela and making sure that we had all of our bases covered to make both boys as comfortable as possible, we met at the park and the boys with their trains in hand, we set off to make some wonderful memories. I can not tell you what a blessing it was to photograph this sweet family! I left the park that day know that this is EXACTLY what I am supposed to be doing! Hope you enjoy these images from their session!
Playground Portraits
I now get the pleasure of introducing you all to a new friend of mine, Blakely. His mom and I go way back but this was my first time getting to meet Blakely and he was certainly ready to play when they arrived for their shoot. I told his mom that I just wanted to capture him having a good time, enjoying what he wanted to do, so that is what I did. I climbed on the playground equipment, peeked through little holes and waited at the bottom of the slide just to catch this precious little boy in all his happiness! Hope you enjoy these images, I certainly enjoyed taking them!

The Many Faces of Nate
I absolutely love this little family! So close to my heart! Right after we shot this session they found out that there is going to be a new member! Can’t wait!!!
Nate was a ball of energy this particular afternoon and was determined to give me every look but a smile! Lucky for everyone he is just too cute no matter what face he is making!
Check out the many faces of Nate!
Better Late Than Never
Last year I was asked to do senior portraits by a family that is very dear to my heart! Hayden is a recent graduate from Powell High School and was wonderful during his session even though I am sure he would have rather been playing soccer or rugby! Sweet little sister Audrey jumped in a few shots as well, it won’t be long and it will be her turn to be in the spotlight! Hope you enjoy these shots from one of my most favorite senior sessions!
It’s All In The Details…
Once the paint was on the walls the rest just took off! We started picking up accents here and there and piecing it all together!
Thank goodness for Craigslist, Burlington and Ross for some of the great items you see below
Two girls and a truck on the open highway, outrunning an afternoon thunderstorm were on a mission to pickup a gently used white couch. We love our Criaigslist finds, even if they do take us to Sevierville! It is all worth the adventure!
Trips to the (lacking) fabric stores in Knoxville were slightly discouraging while I was looking for the perfect fabric to make accent pillows. But one trip through Burlington and I found the PERFECT (and already made
) Mint Gala pillows!
We have picked up lots of great things to add just the right touches to the studio! We can’t wait for you all to see them all! See you on Friday!
